In 2009 my mother Oree Campbell had a stroke, in early 2011 she had a mini heat stroke again. This year in January, I've had a T.I.A it stands for Transient Ischemic Attack. I want to be apart of the Stroke Awarness cause now.
One Half of all African American Women will die from stroke or heart disease. African Americans are twice as likely to die from stroke as Caucasions. The frist strokes in African Americans is almost double that of Caucasians, and strokes tend to occur earlier in life for African Americans than Caucasioans. Additionally, African American stoke suriviors are more likely to become disabled and experience diffulties with dail living and activities. The statistics are staggering-- in fact, African Americans are more impacted by stroke than any other racial groups within the American populations.
